When telling your story, hold your own ink pen. Don’t let anyone else write your story.
Alexis Ahlzadeh is a Law Clerk at The Pride Law Firm and in her second year of law school at the University of San Diego. Before law school, Alexis received her B.A in Strategic Communications from the University of Utah, where she was on the dean’s list. During this time, Alexis worked at The Innocence Center, working to exonerate prisoners who were wrongfully convicted of crimes.
Alexis is a member of the Mock Trail team at USD, where she is honing her trial advocacy skills. Alexis is also involved in USD’s Domestic Violence Clinic, where she and a team of students obtain protective orders for victims of domestic abuse. Her passion for justice and equality brought her to the Pride Law Firm, where she hopes to help people who have been wronged in employment, personal injury, and criminal cases.
In her free time, Alexis enjoys hiking, reading, and spending time at parks with her dog.

Why are you choosing to focus on sexual assault?
I chose to focus on sexual assault because it’s an area of law that is rarely shown in the light. For all the sexual assault cases that are brought into court, there are a dozen that go unreported – and I want to help change that!
What is a message you would like to give survivors of sexual assault who are afraid of pursuing their perpetrators in civil court?
I want survivors of sexual assault to know that when they speak up and use their voices, they are helping other survivors do the same, and ultimately making the world a better place by holding people to higher standards in relationships and intimacy. There is power in telling your true story!
